The following is a brief description of the rules that apply to all who use the lake and its resources. For a complete list of rules check out Article IX of the San Carlos Lake By-Laws or contact an SCLA board member.
Observe all state and federal laws
All guests must be
DO NOT feed the ducks
Docks limited to 15' and must be approved by Board
Any additions or improvements to lakefront areas such as pumps, fountains, etc. must be approved by the Board
Label docks, boats and other floating objects with home address
No dumping of any materials into the lake
Respect others at all times
In case of emergency dial 911
Open from dawn until dusk
Children under 17 years of age MUST be accompanied by an adult
No fishing on beach outlet
No pets allowed
No alcohol
No glass
No fires
No littering
Request that all beachgoers bring cell phone in case of emergency
Catch and release of all Bass
One Catfish per day
No limit on Bluegill
Please remove any other species found
Observe all state limits and regulations
No live minnows type bait allowed
Absolutely no transfer or stocking of fish
Fishing licenses required
Kayaks and canoes limited to 18 feet in length
Fishing boats limited to 14 feet in overall length
Sail boats limited to 16 feet in length
Pontoon boats limited to 18 foot overall length
No gasoline engines
Give sailboats the right of way
Life jackets required for all boaters
Be aware of and practice caution around all shallow areas and sand bars
